Kickboxing
Kickboxing is a sport martial art, which is practiced both as a full- contact combat sport and a fitness practice. Kickboxing is an independent style, which is more or less similar to boxing, except that feet also can be used for fighting. It is generally considered as a standing fight sport, but will vary according to the style they adopt. In standard kick boxing, the fight will be stopped when it reaches the ground. The rules of the competition are seceded based on the style of kick boxing and the combinations involved in it.
Kickboxing was originated in Japan, developed by the boxing promoter, Osamu Noguchi in 1950s. It was a combined style of fighting; formed by combining the Muay Thai and Karate. Later an American variety of kickboxing was also developed in 1974. In 1993, Kazuyoshi Ish formulated special rules to Japanese kickboxing. Now, it has become a popular International sport with roots all over the world. The term kick boxing is more associated with the Japan and American variants of kickboxing. Kickboxing has several governing bodies.
Now several different styles of kickboxing exist in the world, having local additives according to place of exist. Some of them include Pradal Serey (Khmer kickboxing), Adithada (Indian kickboxing), Muay Thai (Thai boxing/kickboxing), Lethwei (Burmese Kickboxing), Savate (French kickboxing) and Sanshou/Sanda (Chinese kickboxing). Moreover, kickboxing has become a widely accepted cardiovascular exercise, which can be used for rigorous work out and reduce stress. It is said that practicing kickboxing will enable to be empowered by improving the balance, coordination and makes confident. |
