Cabbage Soup Diet
The Cabbage Soup Diet is a modification of the Seven day diet in which you eat a particular food on a particular day, e.g. fruit on the first day, vegetables on the second day and so on. The diet includes drinking any amount of cabbage soup, made with cabbage, onions, pepper and soup cubes with variations in spices to change the flavor every day.
Though it is not suitable for long-term weight loss, the Cabbage Soup Diet is a low-fat, high-fiber diet that helps you lose some weight rapidly – even up to ten pounds in a week. It can help you get into the frame of mind for a more balanced long term eating plan after its one week duration. The Cabbage Soup Diet is based on a fat-burning soup that contains negligible calories; its supporters claim that the more soup you have the more weight you will lose. The diet allows all the water and cabbage soup you want with a very restricted set of other foods.
Day 1: Cabbage soup, plus any fruit (except bananas). Drink unsweetened tea, black coffee, cranberry juice and water.
Day 2: Cabbage soup and other vegetables (raw, boiled or steamed) and a baked potato with butter for dinner.
Day 3: Cabbage soup with fruits and vegetables.
Day 4: Cabbage soup plus up to 8 bananas and 4 cups of fat-free milk.
Day 5: Cabbage soup along with meat or fish and up to 6 tomatoes.
Day 6: Cabbage soup, plus meat and vegetables.
Day 7: Cabbage soup, plus brown rice, fruit juice and vegetables.
Some people find the soup bland though with a little imagination it can be varied. Some people have reported feeling light-headed, weak, and have suffered from decreased concentration.
