Grapefruit Diet
Grapefruit Diet – also called Hollywood Diet – have grape fruit or juice as the chief component for the breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Further, it does not restrict the dieter from eating his/her favorite foods, vegetarian or non-vegetarian, nor would it force one to fast or reduce food at any point of time. The only constraint is that the dieter must stick to the food combinations as such, as being mandated by the grapefruit diet menu. Also, the dieter will not have the freedom to experiment with food items too much outside the contours laid down by the diet program. It is a bit of copy book act from start to the end!
According to the grapefruit diet menu, for breakfast, it is a combination of grapefruit (8 oz. juice or half grapefruit) + two eggs (any preparation will do) + 2 pieces of bacon. The lunch menu comprises of grapefruit + salad (any type of dressings) + any meat as you wish. Here, it must be understood that these are the minimum amount of food one must have for breakfast and lunch. Skipping any of these victuals – especially bacon and salad – can have a negative effect on the effectiveness of the entire diet program. The dinner menu is nearly the same as the lunch menu, but one has the freedom to replace the salad with a green or red veggie embellished with butter/spices and to have a tea or coffee in the end. Finally, a bedtime snack comprising of a cup of skimmed milk or 8 oz. tomato juice completes the grapefruit diet menu for the day.
For better results, follow the grapefruit diet program for 12 days on end, take a couple of day’s break, and start all over again. If followed the diet program well, the dieter will lose anywhere near 52 pounds in 2.5 months time.
