Hygiene
Hygiene; this seven letter word has bigger implications on the healthcare domain for it is the basic and most vital aspect one need to set straight before taking the fight to the threatening diseases and illnesses that haunt the human community today. To put it in simpler terms, it is the lack of hygiene or hygienic practices that is the root cause of most of the illnesses we humans suffer day-to-day. By hygiene, here it is meant hygienic practices at a personal level, at home, and broadly, the hygiene in the society as a whole.
Maintaining personal hygiene is a sort of a habit, something which we all must pick up from our formative years itself. This further implies that it is the duty of the parents to see that their children indeed learns and follows good hygiene right from their very younger days. If everybody at home practices a commendable personal hygiene, it automatically contributes to a better domestic hygiene, which on further extrapolation, to the context of the society, transforms to what we call the higher standards of social hygiene. Once that happens, then we could fearlessly proclaim success in our efforts to stem the causes of most of the illnesses and diseases.
Remember, building and spreading hygiene requires generous efforts right from a personal level, in both spreading awareness amongst the public and implementing it on one’s behalf. And for that we all need to be more socially responsible citizens. So let us pledge together to be one and not let down the society which we live in!
