Sports and Health – does it seem like an unlikely combination? If so, then you are wrong. One’s health or well being and sports are inextricably linked. Well, it is not the scores or winning or losing that matters in this context, but, it is the positive effects indulging in sports brings to one's body. Remember, most of the illnesses that happen to man these days are due to lack of physical exercise or activities.
Have you ever thought or analyzed why children are fit and less corpulent than a grown up person? There can be other factors as well defining how portly one is, but still a lot weighs on the balance between input and output and hence the physical exercise one does every day. In that regard, children play a lot and unknowingly burn away all additional calories. But, grown up people, having entangled themselves in the web of work, family and home, most of the times, fails to get a fitness plan running that could keep them in a good shape and healthier. The result diseases, less agility, muscle ache and weak joints, and hence, hours and days inside a doctor’s consulting cabin or hospital.
So, how to get rid of all these mess? It’s simple! Engage in some sports activities that stretch one enough to keep him/her agile and flexible. Running, volley ball, badminton, swimming, and cycling are good enough sports activities that also double up as a decent exercise regime. In fact, it is not limited to these few, but one can indulge in anything that he/she thinks is good for his/her body and age.
For further information on what to do and what not regarding playing sports – especially if you are mid aged – talk to a fitness trainer and device your activities accordingly. After all, it is to pep up one’s fitness levels and not to ruin it!
